Welcome to St Nicholas Christmas Trees 2008 will be our seventh year supplying beautiful Christmas trees to the people of Canberra and the region, and again this year we have been able to support a local charity with a percentage of the proceeds from tree sales. Every year we meet wonderful people who love the festive season and Christmas traditions as much as we do. We met a lady who spends up to six hours decorating her tree each year and many more hours cooking traditional food. We were fortunate enough to be invited into her home to see her beautifully decorated St Nicholas Christmas tree. The lights were pushed into the middle of the tree to illuminate the branches. The branches are then weighted down with the heavier decoration to bend the branches down and stretch them out. The lighter decorations are then placed on very carefully. Many of her decorations were from her first years of marriage. She and her husband had very little money when they were first married so they covered matchboxes in colourful paper and hung them on the tree. Walnuts, fruit and traditional home cooked biscuits also decorated the tree. Her husband, who has now passed on, left behind a wonderful legacy, which his wife continues to support. There are some photos of our past years of trading in our Gallery. Visit our Availability page for details on where to find us this year. Our symbols:
