The Christmas star

The Christmas stars on top of the St Nicholas trees originated from the idea that

'the Christmas Star symbolises high hopes and high ideals, hope for good fortune, hope for reaching above oneself. For all human beings, regardless of religion, stars have special meaning, for all share the heavens, no matter what barriers keep them apart on earth.'

Supporting charity

Each year St Nicholas Christmas Trees chooses a local charity to support. If 2000 trees can be sold this year the nominated charity will receive approximately 20 per cent of the proceeds. This equates to between $6000 to $8000.

Stop for a moment and ask yourself what is Christmas all about? Is it the crowded aisles of the retail shops with its screaming children and stressed-out parents?

Or is it a time to spend thinking of those less fortunate and cherishing the special time we can have with our own families doing traditional Christmas things like choosing a tree and taking it home to decorate it together.
